This year we can offer a transport scheme to get your mare to the stud. We will pick her up and deliver her back to you at cost price of fuel and labour – another service to make life easier for the mare owner.

A change of scenery refreshed former Derrinstown Stud resident Bahri's reputation and he covered 30 mares in his first season at Girsonfield Stud in Northumberland - a tally more fitting for the sire of superstar Arc winner Sakhee and high-class sprinter Redford.

As we have young horses that we have bred and not sold - the plan was hatched to try and get a permit to train. We have trained point to pointers and thoroughly enjoyed that experience. So after the plans were laid it was good to see he result on New Years Day. We are so lucky to have Jakub Kocman working and riding for us. Husband Frank is a good owner to have - two runners, three runs and a first, second and third! Guess he may keep his horses on the yard!

Today both Melissa, who came to complete her NVQ2 in Racehorse Care - Breeding option, and Fran Nolan, who has been here on an outreach course via the National Stud, both achieved their NVQ. As you can see from the picture - life of a student at Girsonfield is not always easy!

After a very poor start to the Point to Point season with the weather - highlight - gently sinking the lorry in the mud at Witton Castle to hear 'abandoned' and just pure bad luck - carried out while lying second on Dodge the Bullet - the world changed when Jamie rode Definite Appeal to be 3rd in a Hunter Chase at Kelso quickly followed up by two wins at the Haydon and Border Point to Points. Well done Jamie - first wins!
