The Stallions that are standing at Girsonfield all have excellent temperaments and very high fertility.
The veterinary care provided is excellent - making sure your mare has the best possible chance of
being in foal when she comes home.

We have an excellent selection of high quality horses for sale, including Brood Mares, Ponies and Youngstock.
We were delighted to welcome owners, breeders and trainers to our recent Open day to welcome Bahri to the stud. Ferrule and Millkom showed the new boy the ropes and after the stallion parade we showed off some of our youngsters.
I was lucky enough to visit Horses First Racing at the weekend and saw, first hand, what kind of filly Pink Cat (Ferrule x Barrosa)has grown into. Still as laid back in her stable but a muscle power house to look at - should get a run in two weeks her trainer, Jeremy Gask says.....
Mobane Ali - Ferrule x Penteli, trained by Jessica Harrington in Ireland, was the first ever runner for Ferrule. She ran a great race and was 6th of 13 - most of whom had ran before - we are looking forward to her next run!
Well done to the connections of LANCELOT ( FR ) son of Bahri and winner of the Prix Pelleas Listed race over 2000m in France yesterday - 26th July 2010
Please join us on 22 August at 2.00pm to welcome Bahri to Girsonfield. His stablemates Millkom and Ferrule will also be on parade as will a collection of our young stock. Accommodation can be arranged if you are traveling a distance.
Next season we intend to offer our transport scheme to our clients. We will pick up and return your mare at cost price. Please book early if you would like to use this system as we hope that clients sharing trips will save you more money and make it easier to visit our three stallions or to send your mare to foal.
BAHRI RELOCATING
TO GIRSONFIELD STUD
Derrinstown Stud has announced that their European
Champion Miler, Bahri (Riverman), will be leased to stand
at Susan Corbett’s Girsonfield Stud in Northumberland next
season.
Bahri won two Gr.1 races for his owner, Sheikh Hamdan
Al Maktoum, scoring impressively by six lengths in the
Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot and recording an equally
emphatic four length success in the St James’s Palace
Stakes at the same venue’s Royal meeting. He was also
Gr.1 placed on four other occasions, including in both the
English and Irish 2,000 Guineas.
Retired to stand at Shadwell Farm in Kentucky, he proved
an immediate success, siring the European Champion
Sakhee and Gr.2 (then) Falmouth Stakes heroine Alshakr
from his first small crops. This prompted his repatriation to
Europe, where he took up duties at Derrinstown.
Since his return, Bahri has been responsible for several high
quality performers, including the Group winners Secret
History, Acts Of Grace and Gesture, and the Stakes
winners Champery, Antonym, Cosmodrome and Albahri.
Bahri’s dam, Wasnah, is a multiple Group producer. She
is a Stakes-placed half-sister to six winners, including
Winglet (Gr.2) and Dance Bid (Gr.3), their dam being the
Champion 2yo Filly and Gr.2 Queen Mary Stakes winner,
Highest Trump.
Speaking of the decision to move the horse, Derrinstown
Stud’s General Manager Stephen Collins said: “Bahri was a
magnificent racehorse who has sired some very useful
performers on the track, including of course his European
Champion Sakhee.
“I’m sure he’ll do a great job for Susan Corbett and, with
his top class pedigree and striking looks, we think he
should prove very popular with British breeders.”
Bahri will be standing alongside the Gr.1 sire Millkom and
first season sire Ferrule (Danehill).
I am sure our clients are as delighted as we are to announce that we will be leasing the Group 1 sire Bahri for next season and beyond! Champion Miler and sire of Champion Sakhee. He is by Riverman who stars in the pedigrees of many National Hunt sires. So whether you are breeding Flat or National Hunt I am now sure we can offer the right pedigree for your mare with Millkom, Ferrule and now,Bahri!
This last two weeks we have been busy putting the final touches to the two fillies we have pre trained here at Girsonfield. 'Destiny Rules' does her first piece of fast work for Newmarket trainer John Berry this weekend. The two year old Ferrule filly 'Rosa' part of his first crop is settling into her new abode in Wiltshire.
Pictured is the Millkom colt out of Wedgewood Star. He is such a stunning foal the owners have booked the mare straight back to Millkom!
Destiny Rules set off to Newmarket on the 17th May to Trainer John Berry. She has been Pre Trained at Girsonfield and we wish John every success with her.
On the 31st March at 9.30pm Dispol Katie foaled a chestnut colt by Trade Fair. She will now visit Ferrule.
You'll be Grand' a 4 year old won his first race (first run) at Gowran Park in October.
