August 2007 – July 2008– Sponsored by PADON CONTRACTS A NEW ERA! Following our majority vote we have started the new Point to Point unit at GIRSONFIELD. Once you become a member, membership runs on an annual basis - you are invited at any time to come and see the work in progress. The following dates have been picked out to assess the development of the horses, AT GIRSONFIELD:- 29th October 3.00pm assessing how the horses are going seeing them trotting and getting fitter. 4th November 3.00pm cantering away assessment of general fitness and ability. 2nd December 3.00pm Gallop and choosing the first point to point. January to May:- Point to Points to be discussed when the dates are available. The horses likely to run at this stage are:- Mr ATTITUDE a home bred gelding by RESPECT His ½ brother is The Hollow Bottom – a winner for Nigel Twiston Davies RIVER MINT a 3 year old (GEORGE) by River Falls out of Penny Mint STAR OF NIGHT a 3 year old filly by River Falls – she has had two races on the flat for tthe syndicate then grew and was sent home to mature. PADON KATE the filly by KADEED whom we had in training for a while last year. She has really matured and we have the highest hopes for her. Star of Night and River Mint will only be 4 year olds so they will be aimed at having only 1 – 2 races. Angela Wanless will be in charge of the fitness programme and the unit will be managed by Frank and myself. We hope to have a lot of fun and, no doubt, some ups and downs on the way!
